Malibu Beach - July 10-12

We arrived at Malibu Beach RV Park and were absolutely awed by how beautiful it was...The view from the campsite was breathtaking! We couldn't say enough good things about this location!  It will definitely be hard for any other locations to match this one!  Just take a look at the views:

Tim and the Super Glide at Malibu Beach

We took the Superglide for a ride in the Santa Monica Mountains on Sunday.  We rode the Mulholland Highway to the Rock House where we took a break for lunch and then on to Piuma Road through the mountains and eventually back to the Pacific Coast Highway.  At that point we'd had so much fun riding the curves that we decided to go up Malibu Canyon Road and back.  The riding was gorgeous and gave Tim a chance to really get into the curves.  The temperatures were mild and made the ride that much more enjoyable.  To end our day, we took the bike to dinner at Neptune's Net and had some outstanding clam chowder, ceviche and fish tacos - YUM.

The start of the section called "The Snake" on Mulholland Highway.

Come ride "The Snake" with us!

We could see the ocean from here and LA is behind the mountains.

Monday was spent at the Getty Villa and were awestruck by the Greek and Roman antiquities that were in the collection.  We went on a tour and then spent all afternoon browsing the exhibits.

The Getty Villa modeled after the Villa dei Papiri

Next was a trip to the Santa Monica Pier where we took in the sights on the pier and enjoyed the ocean views.

All too soon our time in Malibu Beach had come to an end and we were again hooked up and on the road - this time to Santa Margarita.

  2. I love how in the video you don't see a single car driving the road, you can tell who "owns" that stretch! It looks alot loke some of the crazy roads Zan took us down on our trip up to UT. Except we rode it at night...in uncle buck...with the deer and lightning bugs darting about. Miss you and love you lots!!

  3. I love the fountain picture. It turned out awesome. I agree with Vic the road in the video is a lot like the Cherahala Skyway and the other road we took, just a less laughing histerically at noting and no lighting bugs landing in anyone's lap. Gllad you guys are having fun. I love you guys and miss you!
